A six-year-old asks "what's ChatGPT?" — and the answer that came out of actually trying to explain it simply: guessing the next word, based on everything it's seen before.

My six-year-old walked into my office last week while I was working — she does this, just wanders in and starts asking questions.
"Daddy, what's ChatGPT?" "It's a large language model." "What's a large language model?"
I stopped. I did not have a good answer — not a simple one, anyway.
After a lot of thinking, this video is what I came up with: guessing the next word, based on everything it's seen before.
This is the seed for a series of videos simplifying AI ideas for kids, one at a time, in this felt and stop-motion world. More episodes coming.
