I’m just going to say it: generative AI is creating a bunch of crap.
And I don’t just mean hallucinations and lies and misinformation, I mean low-quality, robotic, generic, repetitive crap.
When the effort to write a new email drops 90%, you write more emails because it might get you more leads.
When the effort to make a TikTok video drops 90%, you make 150 videos a day because it might get you more eyeballs.
And that also means the bar will be raised.
We need AI to not just help us generate, but also summarize and synthesize. It can’t just create, it has to clarify.
And if not, we all sink into digital quicksand.
