I believe that Fear of people's opinions (FOPO) is a serious problem that can have a negative

I believe that Fear of people's opinions (FOPO) is a serious problem that can have a negative impact on our personal and professional lives. It can prevent us from taking risks, speaking our minds, and pursuing our true passions and purpose. The below HBR article has covered how FOPO impacts an individual's performance and how managers should drive employees toward purpose-driven goals rather than performance-driven goals. Apart from professional life, I can relate this to sports like Cricket as well. Top performers like Virat Kohli faced tremendous pressure off late and did not score 100+ for many years. Players like R. Ashwin though not in playing 11 for WTC, carried drinks for the team and gave tips to the team to win. So, it is imperative for organizations they build a culture where employees cultivate a purpose-based identity, prioritize team values, and feel inclusive while defining purpose-driven goals and metrics. #fopo #purposedriven
